Chart Time: April 23rd on the Billboard Hot 100

Hey guys, LokoReviews here and today I'm doing something that I usually do every week on Twitter. Today, I'm bringing Chart Time into blog form. Now some of you guys maybe wondering, what is "Chart Time"? Well, it's basically just me giving my random thoughts on the activities that is going on the charts or the chart positions that some songs are in. If you still don't understand, then you will definitely will after I'm done. So let's get it started!

Originally, I thought this year was going to be Adele's year to shine once more. But it looks like Rihanna is taking over things now. Also 7 Years is just down there being cock-blocked once again and it's glorious!

I'm not going to say anything about this right now, I'm just going to wait until the end of year to give my full thoughts on how I really feel about this situation right here (Trust me, it won't be pretty).

Even though that this song is slowly rising up to the top, I'm happy that it's doing well and I hope it keeps on rising more.

Thank goodness I don't drive because I wouldn't want to tune in to any radio station and hear this song play. Fuck that shit, mane!

Oh, hi there Drake!

If it wasn't for that commercial where Taylor Swift was listening to this song and busted her ass while on a treadmill, then it wouldn't be rising this week. Also Michael Jordan reference.

I'm not surprised that this is the highest peaking song on The Life Of Pablo, but it's also the worst of the worst. So I'm not happy about that! 😑

More Kanye!

If it wasn't for the Country Music Awards or the CMAs, none of these songs wouldn't be this high on the charts. 

I love it that they just put Part 2 and not the whole title. I just find that hilarious to me! 

Come on people in America, do we really want Iggy Azalea to have a hit again this year? Let's just leave her alone and focus on another artist that needs attention.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice review

Hey guys LokoReviews here and today, I'm going to be giving my thoughts on one of the most anticipated movies of this year and that is Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice. 

 

Now when I heard that they were making a Batman v. Superman movie, I was actually kind of interested to see 2 beloved DC Comic Book characters fight to the death. The last time when 2 beloved characters fought in the big screen was Alien & Predator in Alien v. Predator: Requim and it didn't turn out so good. But I did have high hopes for Batman v. Superman to be good. Like the way they introduced Ben Affleck as the new Batman was handled well with him looking badass in the bat suit and the first trailer just blew my mind & got me definitely hyped up for it. Then the 3rd trailer came out and that's where things gotten a little eiffy for me. I felt like with the 3rd trailer they focused more on the Dawn Of Justice aspect more than Batman v. Superman and I got really worried because I was just expecting a battle to the death between Batman & Superman. But no, they added characters like Wonder Woman and Doomsday (Which I will discuss later). But even with all that, I still got excited and high hopes for it even though that there were going to be a bunch of characters added onto here. 

Alright, now that it arrived and I finally saw it. I got to say that it was just..........

Okay. Nothing horrible, but nothing that makes me want to call it the best movie I've seen in 2016. So let's discuss why I feel this way and I'm going to be giving my positive thoughts, negative thoughts, and then my overall conclusion. So let's start with the positives. 

The Positives: 

The first positive thing I have to give to it is the acting from some of these actors and actresses. Ben Affleck as Batman was just outstanding. Not only he looked the part, but he was investive, emotional, and even him as Bruce Wayne was great as well. Jeremy Iron as Alfred was pretty good, not the best but I did feel a lot of connection between him and Bruce. But the performance I was really shocked that was good was Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. When I saw her in the trailer, I thought she was only there so that they can quickly set her up for the big Justice League movie that is coming real soon. Even though that some of that is true, I felt like she gave a pretty good performance and she definitely kicked ass as Wonder Woman. 

The other part of this movie I liked were the visuals. Everything looked good and nothing was hard to see. If I have to rate the movie for its visuals, I have to give it a 9 out of 10.

Now my absolute favorite part of this whole film and the part I was waiting for the most was the epic battle between Batman and Superman. Let me just say that it's one of the best battles between 2 beloved characters I've seen in the movie theater since Alien v. Predator. Both of these characters were vulnerable and nothing felt too choreographed. They both kicked each other's asses really well and I felt a lot of danger from both of them. So overall, the fight between Batman and Superman was just amazing. But even with all those amazing things in this movie, there were some negatives that did bring this movie down. 

The Negatives: 

Remember when I said that some of the actors and actresses did a really good job in this movie? Well... There were some that didn't do that well. And the biggest & the only one was Jessie Eisenberg as Lex Luther or Lex Luther son whatever. Now plenty of people said that casting him as Lex Luther was a bad choice because he doesn't look like him and he's too awkward to play as him. So after I heard all of that, I tried giving him the benefit of the doubt to see if it's all true and those people weren't lying. Like JESUS MAN..... Talk about hamming things up. Every time when he's on screen, I didn't take him seriously at all. I was actually chuckling in embarrassment for him because it was just so awkward and so out of place from this dark and serious movie. Now I wouldn't mind Jessie Eisenberg as Lex Luther, if and only if he was genuinely funny and didn't hammer things all the way up. But no, he wasn't funny at all, he wasn't threatening, and he was just out of place in this whole movie. The time I liked him in this movie was at the ending, but that didn't really save the rest of his performance. 

The other thing I didn't like about this movie was Louis Lane. Now personally, I don't really mind this character and it was kind of a surprise to see her. But in this movie, she was just unnecessary. I know that she is Clark Kent/Superman love interest, but we didn't really need that in this movie. All she did was make lovey Dovey with Superman, be a damsel in distress, and especially butt in the fight to the death with Batman and Superman. If she wasn't included at all in this movie, then it would have been 10 times better and nothing would get interrupted. 

But speaking of interruptions.... Let's talk about the most pointless and ugliest looking thing I've seen in the movie theaters in a while is Doomsday. Guys, I don't like the inclusion of Doomsday in this movie. Not only it looks ugly as shit with all that horrible CGI that looks like the evil version of the turtles from the 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies. 

Ew!!!

But the way it was thrown in this movie was just unnecessary. I know that Doomsday was added in to bring all the Justice League together to fight off, but it took away from the main focus of this entire film and that is the epic battle between Batman and Superman. When I see the title Batman v. Superman, I only expect a fight between those 2 characters and that's it. But the inclusion of Doomsday and Lex Luther being a part of this just lose focus on what it's supposed to do. If I was the creator of this whole movie, I would make like 2 parts of this. I would focus 1 part of just the battle between Batman and Superman without killing either one of them, then the other part I would introduce Lex Luther, Wonder Woman, Doomsday, and the small cameo from the rest of the Justice League. So that it can only focus on one part individually without the other getting the most focus. So the inclusion of doomsday in this film was just unnecessary. But I will admit that the action scenes and visual effects for his part were pretty cool to look at. 

And the last negative thing I want to point out is the lack of presence of Superman. What I mean by that is that I felt like I was watching more of a Batman film more than a Superman film. They added more character depth to Batman and Batman had more important screen than Superman does. The only big screen time he gets is when he's getting hated on by the public especially the court scene and the big battle between Batman & sadly Doomsday. Other than that, no character build, no emotional scene, he's just there being Superman and doing Superman things. 

Like I said earlier, this film was just okay. I don't hate it or love it, it was just in the middle. There were some parts that worked really well and others that should have been cutout or been improved on. So if I have to give this film a rating, I have to give it a 6/10. And I'm only recommending this to you guys if you're a really big fan of Batman, Superman, or anything DC Comic Book related things.

Bryson Tiller's "Trapsoul" review/rant

   
    Hey guys, LokoReviews here and today, I'm going to do something a little bit different. Well, sort of different. Today, I'm going to be reviewing an album from a musician who have been getting a lot buzz recently. And that artist I'm talking about is no other than Bryson Tiller.

  Now for the people who don't know who Bryson Tiller is, he is a Hip Hop/R&B singer and songwriter who got discovered by Timberland and Drake. Tiller also made waves with SoundCloud uploads with songs like "Don't," "Break Bread," "Let 'Em Know," and "Sorry Not Sorry." That's basically all the information that you need to know about him, because there was no other interesting info about Mr. Tiller. Now that you guys know a little something something about Bryson Tiller, what do I think about his debut album?

           

   Guys, I wasn't feeling this album at all. Bryson Tiller sounds like another typical mainstream R&B and Hip Hop artist that is working today. He's basically a mixture of Drake, Chris Brown, The Weeknd, and plenty of other musicians. Even if he didn't sound like the people I mentioned, I still wouldn't be impressed by him. The only good thing about this album is the production and even with that, there are other artist that are using the same type of production as him. Also most of the lyrical content on here were piss poor. He mostly portrayed himself as a douche on this album and it wouldn't be that bad if he wasn't so smug and cocky about it in his songs. Speaking of which lets discuss about some of these tracks.

 Bryson Tiller's "Don't"

  Ah yes, his breakout hit that is sweeping the nation. And let me just say that this is the worst song on this album. Now let me just say that I really adore the production on here. It's just so atmospheric and bass heavy and I also love this part right here. "Don't" I could easily jam out to those parts without listening to the lyrics. But Speaking of which, the lyrics on this song just rubs me the wrong way. Bryson Tiller in this song comes off as a total A-hole and insult this girl by constantly blaming her for the stuff that she went through. But oh wait, if she just went with him everything would just be all peachy and fine. Yeah, right. what else are you going to tell me that Tim Burton is going to remake a classic Disney animated film and turn it into a live action format. 

   Huh, didn't see that coming.

Bryson Tiller's "Exchange"

  This next song is about Bryson Tiller having feelings for his Ex and is trying to get her back. Now it would have been fine only if in the final verse he didn't say that he was going to screw her in many different ways. Not to mention that he says that he wasn't loyal to begin with the first time around. So to all the ladies reading this post, would you take this guy back if he said all that to you? If you said no, then you're a lot smarter then Bryson Tiller is.

   The last noteworthy songs I want to talk about in this album are honestly the best tracks on this entire album. Yeah, I know I trashed on this album hard but he did make 2 decent tracks. Now both of these songs are basicially just Bryson Tiller bragging about his success and how he's the best in the game (which is all lies). But Bryson Tiller definitely showed off some lyrical skill without being too douchy and he does flow really good on the these hard-hitting & dark trap beats. Now I'm not saying that these 2 are outstanding tracks because they do got a lot of problems in them, but these 2 were definitely breath of fresh air from all the other bad songs on this album.



    Like I said earlier, I'm not feeling this album. I don't see the appeal about Bryson Tiller and his music. He maybe a cool guy to hang out with in real life, but in his music, I don't want to get involved in anything that he's doing. Overall, I don't like this album and I don't recommend you guys checking it out, unless you are curious to see if it's as bad as I think it is. So overall, I have to give Bryson Tiller's "Trapsoul" a 2/5 for having 2 decent tracks and well produced beats throughout. Also let me know what you think about Bryson Tiller and his debut album. Top 20 review: Fall 2015 Edition

Hey guys, LokoReviews here and welcome back to my top 20 review. This week on charts, a lot have changed the last time I did my top 20 review. There are a bunch of new songs, a new number 1, and even some of my opinions on the last top 20 review have changed as well. So without wasting anymore time, let's explore those new changes. Here is my top 20 review, Fall 2015 Edition:

20. One Direction's "Drag Me Down"

19. Demi Lovato's "Cool For The Summer"

For the people who checked out my last blog review, you guys will remember that I compare and contrast this song with Demi Lovato's other song "Confident". In that review, I said that "Confident" is a way better track and should be more successful than the horror that was this song right here. And I'm not lying, "Cool For The Summer" is a nightmare. I was going to save my full thoughts on why this track is a total scare fest during December, but since this is a top 20 review, I'll just explain it. First off, Demi Lovato is trying way too hard to be sexual in this song. She starts the song off slow to make it seem like it's going to be a slow jam. But once the song starts to pick up, it turns wild and edgy to make it seem like she's getting down and dirty in bed. And the transition into those 2 does not match at all and just turns into this big mess. Another reason why this song is not sexy is that Demi Lovato tried to make it into this lesbian anthem which would have been perfectly fine by me, only if she didn't make it feel creepy and the execution didn't fall flat. The reason why I get freaked out by this song is that  not only the music sends off this dark vibe, but when she said "Don't Tell Your Mother", I question if Demi was sleeping with someone who is not over 18 yet. To make it even more creepier, before Demi said that line, she shushed at her in a really creepy way and that just got under my skin. The last problem I have with this song is that Demi said that she and this random girl can only hang out and have sex during the summer. And I wonder, what happens when summer ends? Are they not going to do the same thing for the other seasons or was it just a one night thing? All these questions are never explained and wow, I wasted a lot of time talking about this song. I'll just give this an F, so that I can continue talking about the other tracks.

17. iHeartMemphis's "Hit The Quan"

How great, another shitty dance song/craze that is disgracing the charts. The last time I covered a song like this was "Watch Me" and I didn't say anything nice about that song. Now I'm not going to compare the two tracks and choose which song is better or worse because they're both equally terrible. All I'm going to say is that these types of songs need to stop being made. I'm not saying that all dance songs or crazes shouldn't exist, but let's stop getting songs like "Watch Me" & Hit The Quan" being made and popular because 1, they serve no purpose; 2, they're both unoriginal; and 3, they're made by talentless hacks that only want to feed off success by other dance crazes that wasn't made by them. I know that I didn't exactly critique "Hit The Quan" in its entirety, but why should I? Why should I waste my time critiquing that song when the artist in question don't put any effort in? All I'm going to say that this song sucks and I hope we don't get another shitty dance song/craze made by a talentless hack. F!

16. Fetty Wap's "My Way" ft. Monty or Drake 

After the surprising success that was "Trap Queen", I thought that would be the last time I would ever hear from Fetty Wap. But that didn't happen, he got 6 songs in the hot 100 right now and 3 of them is even on this week's top 20. But let's not focus on the unexpected success of Fetty Wap, because I can go all day on that. Let's just talk about his new single "My Way". This song isn't as terrible like his other track "679", but it's still pretty bad. Fetty Wap still sounds annoying as ever with him stretching out sllyables constantly throughout the majority of this track and him saying "Aye" a lot. Also this is another "Thug Needs Love" song and in this track, Fetty talks about trying steal some random guy's girlfriend so that she can live the high life and have plenty of sex with Mr. Wap. Not only that, but the verse from Monty and even Drake from the remix are both equally forgettable. The only good thing that I'll say about this track is that the production is okay, but that's not saying much. Overall, this song sucks and I'll give it a D-

15. Macklemore's "Downtown" ft. A Fuckton of Dudes 

I'm happy that Macklemore is back on the charts, because in 2013, he had a killer year with 3 songs I absolutely adored. But this new song of his, I'm not really feeling it. I don't think this song is down right bad, but it's a mess in my opinion. The first part of this track is really good with the nice and fun production, the back up guys hyping this song up, and Macklemore's good performance. But once it got to the rock guy (I'm sorry if I don't know his name) doing the hook or whatever he was doing, the whole song just turns into a big mess. The transition from the rock guy doing the hook and funkiness that is Macklemore's part just doesn't combine well for me. Also is it just me or is this song not a carbon copy of "Uptown Funk"? Like let's be serious; the funkiness, the backup dudes, the similar sounding production, and the egotistical performance from the main star, this is a carbon copy of "Uptown Funk". But the only difference between this song and "Uptown Funk" is that in the latter, the performer is not threatening the listener by saying "You don't want no beef, boy!". Overall, I really wanted to like "Downtown", but it's just mediocre in my opinion. This song gets a D+

13. Ed Sheeran's "Photograph"

Ed Sheeran was on a roll with releasing really good songs like "Don't", "Sing", and "Thinking Out Loud" as singles. So when I heard that he had a new single out, I was really excited to hear it. But after I finally heard it, I was really disappointed by it. Now I'm not disappointed with the message or production in this track, because they're both fine. What I am disappointed in is Ed Sheeran himself and his really boring and uninteresting performance in this track. I know that he was trying to sound all emotional in this track, but every time I hear this song, he sounds half asleep and that just ruin the song for me. The song would have been perfectly fine, if he sounded alive or interesting on here. But sadly, he doesn't. I'll give this song a C-

9. Shawn Mendes's "Stitches"

For anyone who is subscribed to my YouTube channel (SHAMELESS PLUG: https://youtube.com/channel/UCP5GNik1XRkJHoGT89zIYLA) will remember that I did a review for Shawn Mendes's "Life Of The Party" which by the way I deleted and never re-upload it again. In that review, I didn't really say nice things about Shawn Mendes and how I compared him to Justin Bieber. But my opinion have changed, because he made 2 good songs after that; "Something Big" and this song right here. What I like about this song here is that Shawn sounds really good on this track and he just sells it. The production isn't too bad as well with nice acoustic strings and cords added by a good beat drop. The only thing that I'm kind of eiffy on is the lyrics, because it's just the typical "don't leave me behind, because I can't survive without you" type of song. But I don't really have a big issue with the lyrics, because the rest of the song is really good. I'll give this song a B!

8. Taylor Swift's "Wildest Dreams"

Out of all the songs that was released as singles off of Taylor Swift's "1989" album, this is the weakest of them all. Now this song is not really bad or mediocre, it's just average. The production is average, the lyrics are average, and Taylor herself sound average. This song is like plenty of other pop songs out there, but less interesting. This song gets a C.

6. R. City's "Locked Away" ft. Adam Levine 

Every year on the charts, there's always at least 1 reggae song. Last year it was MAGIC!'s "Rude" and now this year, we have 2; "Cheerleader" and this song right here. Now I don't know too much about R. City, but after listening to this song, I find them to be decent. R. City give alright performances and Adam Levine just kills it on the hook. The message about being there for your love ones even if they did do something bad is not bad at all. The only thing that keeps this song from being good or even great is the really weak and easily forgettable production. But other than that, this song is decent and I'm glad it's on the charts. C+

Even though I don't mind Drake, he was overexposed this year. With "If You're Reading This, It's Too Late", his collaboration album with Future, and a whole bunch of features, he was just inescapable this year. But enough of all that, let's talk about his new single "Hotline Bling". Or let's not because there's not much to say about it other than the production sounding like the music playing when a company puts you on hold while you're on the phone. The lyrics is typical Drake and how he's complaining about some random girl not calling him anymore (which by the way is a lame topic to talk about). Nothing about this song stands out other than the production. Drake sounds uninteresting in this song and the message is bleh. This song gets a D!

2. Justin Bieber's "What Do You Mean?"

Let's be honest here, nobody wasn't expecting Justin Bieber's career to be back after the wild shit he done. But in 2015, his career came back with the really good song "Where Are Ü Now". And now, he got another hit with this new song here and it's not as good as "Where Are Ü Now". The only main problem I have with this song are the lyrics and how uninteresting it is. This song is about how this girl that Justin wants to have sex with can't make up her mind if she wants to do it with him or not and Justin just ask a lot of questions. Yeah, not the most interesting topic over there. The production and Justin himself doesn't sound bad in this, but they don't really save this song from being mediocre. But I will say that Justin is improving a little bit, but if he keeps making songs like this, my interest will easily be lost. I'll give this song a C-

Top 5 favorite songs from the Billboard's hot 100 (October 10, 2015)

Hey guys, LokoReviews here and I got something special to tell you guys. Are you ready? 

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!! 

But before we celebrate and get hella crunk up in here, I want to share my top 5 favorite songs that are in the Billboard's hot 100 chart right now. Now let me make this clear that some of these 5 songs are not really my actual favorite songs that are in the billboard's hot 100 right now. The reason for that because "Uptown Funk", "Can't Feel My Face", "Shut Up And Dance", and "Cheerleader"  were going to be on this list, but I already gave my full thoughts on them in previous reviews. So I chose my 5 favorite songs that are in the billboard's hot 100 right now that I haven't talked about yet. So now that's cleared, here are my top 5 songs:

5. Flo Rida's "I Don't Like It, I Love It" ft. Robin Thicke & Verdine White

Flo Rida have always been a hit or miss for me. He made some good tracks like "I Cry" and "Low" & he made some awful tracks like "Whistle" and "GDFR". So before I had the chance to listen to this track here, I didn't know what to expect. But after I gave this song a listen, I instantly liked it. This song have a really nice and fun vibe to it that makes you feel like you're having the best summer ever. The production makes that work with the right mixture of funk, pop, hip hop, and even edm. Not only that, Robin Thicke makes this song as good as it is with his wonderful performance. I know that he only does the hook in this song, but he really sells it like it's his own. Now I don't really have that many problems with this track, but I got to be honest that Flo Rida's performance wasn't really all that great. I'm not saying he ruins the entire song for me, because he really doesn't. The only real problem I have with his performance in this track is that it felt kind of lazy and basic to me. All Flo Rida is basically saying in this song is that he wants to have sex with this random girl he met at this party and have a good time as well. He doesn't really say anything interesting or have a line that is rememberable at all in this song. I feel like his verses are there to just make the song longer. But other than that, I really enjoy this song a lot. Too bad this song didn't reach the top 40, but hey, at least it did its best. 

4. Demi Lovato's "Confident"

After the horror that was "Cool For The Summer", I had no hopes for this new single from Demi Lovato to even be romotely good. But to my surprise, it's pretty damn great and even badass if I may say. The best part of this song is definitely the production with a killer horn, nice snaps, and a good beat that kind of reminds me of Kanye West's "Black Skinhead". Let's not discredit Demi Lovato because she does an awesome job as well. Demi gave a highly energetic performance and she just owns it in this track. Now you could say that Demi Lovato does the same thing in "Cool For The Summer", but the difference between that and this song is 1, she doesn't sound creepy; and 2, she doesn't sound like she's trying too hard. You could say that Demi Lovato sounds really confident in this song (I'm sorry for the bad joke). But overall, I really like this song. I don't know how big this song will get, but I hope it does way better than "Cool For The Summer".

3. Little Mix's "Black Magic"

I'm not going to waste my time on this, I really enjoy this song a lot. Heck, the first time I listened this song, I instantly like it. And what isn't there to like about this song? The fun and bouncy production, the really good vocals from each member in the group, and the sneaky sexy lyrics that this song have. Now I'm not saying that everything about this song is like the best thing ever, because the production isn't really all that great. Yes, the production is indeed enjoyable for me, but it doesn't really have any melody or something to make me remember it. But I will say that the production does sound a lot like the 1983 hit single "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper (which by the way, I secretly enjoy). But other than that, I don't have that many problems with this song. I really enjoy it and I hope it does well. 

2. Alessia Cara's "Here"

This pop year in 2015 so far was dominated with a bunch of party and club tracks. Some of the party tracks were good like anything from DJ Snake this year. But a lot of them sucked like "Post To Be", "Watch Me", "Hit The Quan", and anything from Fetty Wap (excluding "Again"). Now the reason why I bring this up, not because this song specifically fully mention those type of tracks. But the environment around that Alessia Cara feels when those type of songs play at a party. In this song, Alessia explains that she wasn't really in the mood to go partying. But since her friends were going, she just wanted to go to that party and have a great time with her buddies. But when she reaches there, she doesn't really have a good time. She's not into the environment, people are drinking and doing a lot of drugs, she doesn't like the music that is playing, and she just doesn't want anything bad to happen to her. Now you could say that she is a party pooper, but she doesn't really kill the party because the people that are there are already going to have a good time with or without her and she even let's them to continue to party (Even if she's not feeling it at all). And because of that maturity, makes me like this song a lot. I would continue praising it, but I want to save my full thoughts on this song when December comes. So all I will say is that this song is great and you guys should definitely check this song out.

And now my number 1 pick is.......

1. X Ambassadors's "Renegades"

When I first heard this song, I instantly disliked it. I thought it was boring, lame, and overdone as hell. Now I tried giving this song a dozen of listens because I know that this track could grow on me, but those attempts failed. But after I listened to that song the 16th time, it finally grew on me and I'm definitely happy it did because this one of best inspirational song I heard all year. Now I will say that message is pretty cliche with the topic of never giving up and always thrive for more. But thanks to the vocals from the lead singer & background vocals from the rest of X Ambassadors and the really good production made by Alex Da Kid (who also produced "Radioactive"), those cliches actually feels like they mean so much more and feel inspiring. If any song can take something that is simple & have been done to death and make it feel like it's worth something, it's definitely a song I like.

One Direction's "Drag Me Down" review

Hey guys, LokoReviews here and I just realized that I haven't made a review in 3 months now. Sorry that I haven't a made a review for that long, I just wanted to take a break from reviewing and focus on my life. Also since I'm in college now, I don't really have the time to make any new review. But since I'm not busy right now, I want to give my quick thoughts on One Direction's new track "Drag Me Down". Now I already talked about One Direction before, one was my awkward review for their song "Story Of My Life" and I also mentioned their other track "Best Song Ever" on my top 10 best songs of 2013 video. I would have put a link for you guys to see those 2 videos, but I made them private on my old YouTube channel. But I'm getting off topic, let's talk about One Direction's new song "Drag Me Down".

Now when I first heard that One Direction released a new track without Zayn Malik (the former member of One Direction), I was a little bit curious of how it will turn out and how the rest of the members will evolve as band without Zayn. When I was about to listen to it, I had 2 predictions of how this whole thing will turn out. They could either evolve as a band and make really good & interesting pop music or they could just stick with what they do best; make the same old love songs so that all their fan girls can go crazy for it. Well....... after I listened to their new track 3 times, they didn't just make a typical love song for all their fan girls to insane for (Well...... Some of it). They actually took their time and made a fairly decent song.

 Now most people think that this song is a love song about how One Direction loves that their girlfriends have stuck around and supported them when everybody else tried bringing them down. I do kind of agree with those people who think this song is actually about that, but I feel like they went a little bit deeper than that. In my opinion, I feel like this song is about how One Direction appreciate their fans who supported them throughout their whole music career and stuck around them during their darkest times. Heck, this song could even be about each member of One Direction's families supporting & helping them out so that no one can bring them down or let fame get the best of them. This song could literally be about anyone (Well, except for Zayn maybe) and you know what...... Even if this song is about them appreciating their girlfriends, at least they care enough that their girlfriends are supporting them. Overall, I like the message of this song; it's nice and sweet (even though that the lyrics are vague). 

The performances in this track is not that bad either. Yeah, it's not anything amazing but at least they don't sound annoying like they did in "Steal My Girl". The music is also not that bad as well and do enjoy that beat drop, even if it's typical. Overall, I don't really have that much to complain about this track. I feel like One Direction actually made a decent track. Yeah, the song isn't really anything new or groundbreaking but I feel like people are not giving this song too much credit. I could definitely understand why people would hate/dislike this song because this track is not perfect. But I feel like most people are hating this track because they think it's a typical love song made by a boy band and I think this song is more than that. But hey, if you don't like it for any reason than go ahead and hate or dislike this song as much as you want. But for me, I'm going to keep on listening to this song until I get tired of hearing it. This song gets an 3.5/5 for me!
